Still My God

IMPACT had the opportunity to travel to French Camp Academy in French Camp, Mississippi this past weekend and can I just say I don't think I have received such a blessing in a good long time.

God's love is visible everywhere you look at that place. It was so awesome to see a place where God's hand was moving and doing miracles and giving blessings everywhere I looked. We got to minister and connect with kids who pretty much have nothing and it was such a great experience.
I didn't want to leave.

This statement is from their website...

"French Camp Academy, a Christ centered home and school, exists to serve young people and families for the glory of God". We provide a safe, stable, healing place for young people from families in crisis.

To learn more about the ministry of French Camp Academy please visit their website at www.frenchcamp.org

While we were there we were able to meet, hang out, and minister to kids from 5 all the way up to 18. These children come from broken homes, bad family situations, and other circumstances. Some are also in orphan situations. They come into French Camp and are taken in and loved and taught how to live a strong Christian life. They get to experience what living in a loving family is supposed to be like. Also they receive and excellent education through the school. God is definitely doing wonders there.

After seeing all of the kids and hearing some of their stories, I was reminded after the weekend that no matter what we are going through, no matter what our circumstances are, trouble we get in, hardships we face, etc... there is no place we can get to where God's love can't reach us. We can't stray far enough away from Him. He is always willing to reach out and bring us back into His loving embrace. We just have to willing to let Him do it.

Avalon has a new song on the radio called "Still My God." I make it one of my daily goals in life to continue to worship, praise, and thank God for everything he has given me. Even if it's a tough day, I thank Him b/c He has something for me to learn from it. So whatever trials come He is still my God. I pray that those kids at French Camp will realize that no matter what they face in life, that God is still their God and will always be there for them.

I hope this is an encouragement to you as well.

Here is the lyrics from the chorus of "Still My God" by Avalon. My hope is that this will be a prayer for you.

If I’m standing on a mountain
Or drowning in the sea
If I am filled with hope
Or crying out for mercy
If I’m singing hallelujah
Or scared to make a sound
If I am learning how to walk
Or when I’m falling down
I’m saying You are still my God
Still my God

MANY BLESSINGS!!
